Explosions and Drone Activity in Different Regions of Crimea

According to the Telegram channel “Crimean Wind,” on March 1, two strong explosions were heard in the Kirovsky district near the Staro-Krim military training ground. Social media users also reported a flash and explosion in Feodosia, with similar sounds recorded in Saki and Kerch. Additionally, drones were spotted flying over the Krasnoperekopsk and Dzhankoy districts and Kerch, while missile activity was observed over Simferopol.

Power Outages and Reaction from the Occupation Authorities

In the evening, large-scale power supply disruptions were recorded in several areas, including Sevastopol, Saki, Feodosia, parts of the Kirovsky district, and Yevpatoria. The Russian head of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, announced an emergency power outage in the city and certain districts:

“According to preliminary information, the cause is an emergency shutdown in the Crimean energy system. Consumers in the areas supplied by substations No. 6, 7, and 15 have been disconnected. Consumers in the following areas of the city of Sevastopol are without power: Balaklava, Kozacha Bay, Komyshova Bay, Streltska Bay, Fiolent, and the city center.”

An advisor to the so-called head of Crimea, Kryuchkov, explained the power outage as an accident in the main power lines. Subsequently, power supply in Sevastopol was restored.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported in a morning briefing that 172 Ukrainian drones were allegedly intercepted by air defense systems, of which 23 were over the territory of Crimea, 67 over the Black Sea, and 8 over the Sea of Azov. Ukrainian military officials have not provided any official comments regarding the events.

It is worth noting that since 2022, drone and missile attacks on the territory of the Crimean Peninsula have become almost a daily occurrence. In most cases, the Russian Ministry of Defense or Russian authorities do not confirm the damage to military facilities, even when this information can be verified by independent sources.
