There is an active orientation towards European markets in Ukraine’s agricultural sector, as confirmed by the president of the Ukrainian Club of Agricultural Business, Alex Lissitsa. He emphasized that Ukrainian agrarians are implementing joint projects with their European counterparts, particularly in Romania, Poland, and Spain. According to him, this creates conditions for a new wave of investment from Ukraine to the European Union.

Expectations of Agrarians in European Markets
Lissitsa noted:
“On one hand, we expect Europeans to come to us, and on the other, our agricultural companies will most likely venture into European markets. This is to be expected in the coming years”
. This will allow Ukrainian agrarians to strengthen their positions in external markets.
Challenges and Threats for Ukrainian Agrarians
However, according to Lissitsa, European partners have clearly stated that the continuation of autonomous trade preferences for Ukraine will not happen. Currently, there are no proposals from the EU regarding a resolution to this issue. After June 5, a return to the terms of the 2015 free trade agreement is possible, which will include numerous restrictions and quotas. Lissitsa also stressed that Ukrainian agrarians will have to compete with Russia in many global markets, which may complicate their operations.
