Ukraine has received a new tranche of 3.5 billion euros from the European Commission under the Ukraine Facility mechanism, as announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on April 1.

“These funds will help us continue to support macroeconomic stability,” he noted.

According to Shmyhal, the total amount of financial assistance under the Ukraine Facility program has already reached 19.6 billion euros. The Prime Minister emphasized that such payments are crucial for supporting Ukraine’s economy amid the war.

“Thank you for your ongoing support and solidarity with Ukraine in these difficult times. Together we will endure and rebuild everything,” Shmyhal wrote.

It is worth noting that on March 17, the Council of the European Union made a decision to disburse the third payment to Ukraine under the Ukraine Facility program, amounting to approximately 3.5 billion euros. In the spring of 2024, the EU Council approved a plan for the Ukraine Facility, outlining the intentions of the Ukrainian government regarding the country’s recovery, reconstruction, and modernization, as well as planned reforms in the process of integration into the EU over the next four years. This step allowed for the initiation of regular payments under the Fund for Ukraine amounting to 50 billion euros.
