European Blockchain Convention 2025 in Barcelona: Program, Speakers, and Innovations

In October 2025, Barcelona will become the main hub of the European blockchain industry, hosting the European Blockchain Convention 11 (EBC11). The event will take place on October 16-17 and promises to be the largest in the series since 2018, gathering over 6,000 participants and more than 300 speakers.

Main Topics and Expected Speakers

The EBC11 program will focus on the tokenization of securities and funds, the development of ETFs, modern L1/L2 networks, the DePIN segment, restaking, and the impact of artificial intelligence on the industry. Organizers have also highlighted topics such as stablecoins, the demand for digital assets among institutional investors, user-focused Web3 design, and the use of Bitcoin as a corporate reserve asset.

Among the invited speakers are leaders from prominent companies, including Bitpanda, CoinFund, Galaxy, KKR, OKX, Banco Santander, BBVA, Algorand, Bullish, Bitwise Asset Management, as well as representatives from J.P. Morgan and BNP Paribas. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and exchange experiences with global market leaders.

Innovations and Additional Activities at EBC11

For the first time in the event’s history, the organizers are implementing a large-scale meeting program for representatives of the crypto industry — over 10,000 individual meetings between investors, entrepreneurs, bankers, and technical specialists. This is expected to significantly enhance collaboration in the field and foster the creation of new partnerships.

“We have seen incredible growth in registrations and interest following positive feedback from last year,” shared EBC co-founder Victoria Gago.

A special emphasis will be placed on supporting innovative startups: as part of EBC11, the Startup Battle will take place — the main European competition for blockchain startups, where 50 of the most promising projects will present their ideas live. The organizers are also preparing a 48-hour hackathon involving over 200 hackers, 30 mentors, and 20 teams working on unique innovative solutions.

In addition to the business program, participants can look forward to lifestyle activities: a beach party at sunset, a morning run along the coast, wine tastings, and culinary tours of Michelin-starred restaurants. The EBC11 will coincide with the Sitges Film Festival, the Salón Náutico maritime exhibition, and the CSIO Barcelona equestrian tournament, adding even more cultural and business significance to the event.

The European Blockchain Convention, established in 2018, has become the most influential blockchain convention in Europe, bringing together industry professionals, technology leaders, and startups to share knowledge, establish partnerships, and explore the potential of digital assets.
