Dollar Exchange Rate Forecast in Ukraine for the Coming Days

A significant change in the dollar exchange rate is expected in Ukrainian exchange offices. For the next week, from March 31 to April 6, the currency value is projected to be within 41.4-42 UAH. As of the evening of March 29, exchange points are buying dollars at an average rate of 41.01 UAH and selling them at 41.55 UAH. This may lead to an increase in the rate during both buying and selling.

Similar changes are also anticipated in banks. Taras Lesovyi, head of the treasury department at Globus Bank, noted that the dollar’s value in banks will remain within the same range as in exchange offices – 41.4-42 UAH. In the evening of March 29, banks are buying dollars at an average of 41.2 UAH and selling them at 41.8 UAH.

“The dollar exchange rate in Ukraine is not expected to undergo serious changes in the near future. The market remains under the control of the NBU, and external factors are currently contributing to prolonged relative exchange rate stability,” the statement reads.

Lesovyi also emphasized that during the first week of April, Ukraine’s currency market will maintain the usual trends of February and March. In particular, the hryvnia will remain in relative equilibrium, and exchange rate fluctuations will not pose serious risks to the market.

“The main factor for stability remains the NBU’s policy. The regulator is actively working to curb inflation and strengthen the hryvnia: since December, the key interest rate has changed three times, rising from 13% to 15.5%. This directly affects the exchange rate situation – in March, the dollar was essentially in a state of stagnation,” the banker concluded.
