Czech Republic to Allocate Over 40 Million Euros Annually to Support Ukraine Until 2030

The Czech government has decided to extend the existing program of humanitarian, stabilization, and economic assistance to Ukraine for another five years — from 2026 to 2030. This was announced by the press service of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

New Funding Amounts and Key Areas of Support

According to the approved program, Ukraine will receive 1 billion Czech crowns annually, which exceeds 40 million euros. The distribution of these funds among various government departments will be handled by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The funding will be directed towards a wide range of areas — from humanitarian support to reconstruction and reform initiatives.

According to Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský, supporting Ukraine is fundamentally important for the Czech Republic. It not only helps Ukrainian society but also strengthens the security of the Czech Republic itself. The minister emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach — not limiting assistance to military support but actively promoting humanitarian initiatives and reconstruction projects, involving Czech companies for long-term cooperation.

“Supporting Ukraine is key for the Czech Republic. It helps Ukraine itself, but it also strengthens our own security. It is important for the Czech Republic to assist Ukraine not only militarily but also with humanitarian aid and in reconstruction. This is in our interest. We want Czech companies to be involved in the reconstruction and to have a long-term presence there,” stated Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský regarding the initiative.

Program Priorities and Prospects for Bilateral Cooperation

The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs identifies support for Ukraine as a “fundamental priority” of state policy. Based on the results of previous years of program implementation — from 2023 to 2025 — the public, private, non-profit, and academic sectors of the Czech Republic have gained significant opportunities to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine. The continuation of support in Prague is considered important for deepening bilateral cooperation in the future.

Among the main areas of assistance are support for Ukrainian refugees in Moldova, provision of emergency medical aid, emergency housing, access to education, energy resources, and heating. Additionally, the Czech Republic will assist in demining agricultural land, developing cybersecurity, constructing underground medical and educational facilities, and implementing democratic reforms in Ukraine.

In August, Czech President Petr Pavel emphasized that in the event of deploying peacekeeping units on Ukrainian territory, the Czech Republic is ready to participate in such a mission, as the country has consistently supported Ukraine since the beginning of the Russian invasion and remains an active participant in the peace process.
