Construction Work Volume in Ukraine Increased by 23% in 2024

According to the State Statistics Service, in 2024, the volume of completed construction work in Ukraine increased by 23.5% compared to the previous year, reaching ₴204.7 billion. This figure also surpassed the results of 2020, when it amounted to ₴202 billion, but still remains lower than the pre-war level of 2021, where the volume was ₴258 billion.

In 2024, the volume of construction work in the residential sector increased by 16.3%, reaching ₴26.6 billion. In non-residential construction, this figure rose by 35.5%, to ₴57.7 billion, while in engineering construction, it increased by 20%, totaling ₴120.4 billion. The share of new construction in the total volume was 41.1%, repairs accounted for 32.6%, and reconstruction and technical re-equipment made up 26.3%.

State of the Construction Market in Ukraine

Experts note that demand in the construction market of Ukraine remains consistently low. Despite positive trends, it will take the market 4-5 years to reach the pre-war indicators of 2021.

Growth in the Commercial Sector

In the commercial construction market last year, the hotel real estate segment showed the most significant growth, increasing by an impressive 182%. At the same time, demand in the primary residential real estate market rose by 12%.
