In the first quarter of 2025, Ukraine is experiencing a significant increase in the volume of new housing construction. According to the State Statistics Service, during this period, the construction of 22,698 apartments with a total area of 1.4 million square meters was initiated. In comparison, during the same period last year, 16,693 apartments with an area of 919,100 square meters were started in the country.

Construction Dynamics and Regional Leaders
In annual terms, the number of new apartments increased by 35%, while the total area of completed housing rose by nearly 52%. This trend indicates a growing activity among developers and is likely to lead to an increase in supply in the real estate market over the next 2-5 years.
The most active residential construction took place in the Kyiv region. Here, during the first three months of 2025, the construction of 9,292 apartments with a total area of 594,600 square meters was initiated. A significant portion of new apartments was also provided by developers in the Lviv region, where the construction of 3,067 apartments with an area of 247,900 square meters began.
The Capital and Other Regions
Kyiv ranked third in the number of new apartments, with the construction of 1,711 housing units covering a total area of 145,300 square meters. Among the regional leaders were also Ivano-Frankivsk (1,530 apartments), Vinnytsia (973), Zakarpattia (968), Chernivtsi (965), and Volyn (923) regions.
