Cloudflare “brought down” Telegram, YouTube, and other popular services

If on November 18 your favorite websites suddenly stopped loading — you are not alone. A technical issue at Cloudflare left millions of users worldwide without internet access.

Around midday, people began complaining about their inability to access Telegram, refresh their Facebook feed, or watch videos on YouTube. Instead of the usual content, error code 500 appeared on their screens.

The cause was a global outage in Cloudflare’s systems, the company that provides security and speed for a vast number of websites. Technical specialists quickly set to work on resolving the issue, and within an hour, services began to recover.

Experts advise users not to panic — such large-scale outages are rare, and recovery occurs gradually. If your favorite service is still not working, it is advisable to wait a few more hours.
