There has been a significant decrease in cherry prices in the Ukrainian market. According to experts, the fruit can now be purchased for 115–160 UAH per kilogram, which is 18% cheaper than a week ago. Just last week, the average wholesale price did not drop below 140–200 UAH/kg.

Reasons for the Price Drop in Cherries
The main reason for the price decrease is the deterioration in the quality of the fruit due to unfavorable weather conditions. Excessive rainfall has led to a significant amount of substandard cherries. As a result, the sales period for low-quality products is limited, forcing producers to lower prices to avoid losses.
“The quality of cherries has been affected by heavy rainfall. The sales period for low-quality products is quite limited, so producers are forced to make concessions.”
Forecast and Retail Situation
Key market players expect that prices may drop even further starting next week, as the supply of cherries increases while quality remains low.
At the same time, despite the current decrease, cherry prices in Ukraine are now on average 95% higher than during the same period in 2024.
Regarding retail chains, in the supermarket “Silpo,” the price of cherries starts at 249 UAH/kg, while in “Varus,” it starts at 179.90 UAH/kg. At markets, prices are still significantly lower than in supermarkets.
