Planned Planting Areas and New Crops
In 2026, the company’s plans include sowing 70 hectares of onions, 40 hectares each of carrots and beets, as well as 200 hectares of potatoes. Additionally, “Volya” intends to plant early carrots and beets on areas of 7 hectares for each vegetable. After harvesting the early crops, they plan to grow cauliflower, Chinese cabbage, and broccoli on the same plots. A special greenhouse is being prepared to provide seedlings.
A separate focus will be on growing watermelons in protected soil: plans are in place to set up tunnels on an area of 12 hectares.
Export Prospects and Production Development
The company is also considering the possibility of entering foreign markets. Test sowings of dill and parsley have already been conducted for further drying on an area of 1 hectare. The next step is to scale this direction up to 300 hectares.
“In July 2025, Ukraine imposed anti-dumping duties on the import of fresh cucumbers and tomatoes from Turkey at rates of 20.1% and 26.9%, respectively, for a period of five years. These measures were implemented to protect Ukrainian producers from dumping imports that harmed domestic greenhouse farms.”
Against the backdrop of such measures, Ukraine increased its tomato imports by 4.3% to 81,820 tons and cucumber imports by 13.6% to 109,560 tons in January–October compared to the same period last year.
