As a result of the largest attack since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the company “Centrenergo” announced a complete halt in electricity production at its thermal power plants.

Massive Attack on the Energy System
According to official information from the company, the enemy used an “unprecedented number of missiles and drones” that targeted the same thermal power plants that had been restored after the devastating attack in 2024. Hundreds of air assault vehicles were directed at infrastructure facilities every minute, leading to the destruction of the restored capacities.
The press service of “Centrenergo” noted that less than a month had passed since the previous attack, but last night all of the company’s stations simultaneously suffered new strikes and found themselves in a critical state.
Complete Halt of Generation and Further Actions
Due to the destruction caused by the massive shelling, the company reports a complete halt in electricity production: generation has fallen to zero. As a result, all restored infrastructure, which specialists from “Centrenergo” had been rebuilding around the clock after previous damage, has been lost.
“The stations are on fire! Our thermal power plants are not military facilities. We do not produce weapons! We have civilian workers. We have stopped… Currently – zero generation. Zero! We have lost what we were restoring around the clock. Completely!”
Despite the difficult situation, company representatives emphasized that they will continue restoration work, repairs, and the implementation of new generation. They stress that there is no other choice to ensure the energy security of the country.
