Ukraine celebrates a significant achievement in cargo export through the maritime corridor. According to the Ministry of Development, since the Ukrainian maritime corridor became operational, the ports of Greater Odesa have processed 120 million tons of cargo. Of this volume, 76 million tons consist of agricultural products. Just this year, over 28 million tons of cargo have already been transported through the corridor, including more than 15 million tons of grain.

Export Geography and Economic Benefits
The Ukrainian maritime corridor has facilitated the export of products to 53 countries, including Kenya, Djibouti, and Bangladesh. For the markets of North Africa and Southeast Asia, the maritime route remains the most economically advantageous, as land transportation makes Ukrainian grain uncompetitive in price. This allows Ukrainian producers to maintain their competitiveness in global markets and ensure stable foreign currency inflows into the country’s economy.
Impact on the Agricultural Sector and Metallurgy
According to data from the National Bank of Ukraine, up to 30% of metal product exports occur via sea. For the agricultural sector, the economic effect of utilizing the maritime corridor is estimated at 15-20% of added value. Despite the challenges faced by the ports, including over 800 instances of air raid alerts in the Odesa region alone in 2024, the export of goods continues. The total time during which port workers have had to interrupt operations and seek shelter exceeds 32 days, yet this does not hinder the continuation of export operations.
