BGV Group Invests $147 Million in Ukraine’s Utilities and Energy

Potential of the Utilities Market

As noted by BGV Group Management board member Oleksiy Tymofeev during a forum in Kyiv, the sector of municipal infrastructure in Ukraine — particularly water utilities, heat and power companies, and water supply systems — has potential estimated in the tens of billions of hryvnias and dollars. The company is currently testing pilot projects in all key areas, investing tens of millions of euros. BGV Group is also considering further investments ranging from $50 to $200 million.

“However, for large and long-term investments in the Ukrainian market, there is currently a lack of predictability beyond a five-year horizon,” Tymofeev stated.

Plans for 2025: Investments and New Projects

According to Tymofeev, over the past year the company has considered more than 50 projects in the energy sector, of which 15 passed the investment assessment, but shareholders approved only five. By the end of 2025, BGV Group Management plans to direct $147 million in investments: specifically into the building materials manufacturer “Aerok,” which was acquired for $50 million, as well as into the five approved energy projects and development.
