Banca Sella’s New Initiative and Its Prospects

Currently, access to the service is limited to select employees of the banking group. However, in the future, Banca Sella is considering launching this service for all its clients. According to informed sources, the bank does not currently plan to offer cryptocurrency trading services, including Bitcoin. The further development of the initiative will depend on the results of the pilot testing, which is expected to conclude in the second half of summer.

European Banks and Growing Interest in Cryptocurrencies

Banks in various European countries continue to actively explore the possibilities of integrating digital assets into their financial services. Favorable regulatory conditions in the European Union and the United States are encouraging traditional financial institutions to expand their operations in the cryptocurrency market. Among the examples of such changes is Italy’s largest banking group, Intesa Sanpaolo SpA, which made its first purchase of Bitcoin on the spot market in January and announced the launch of its own digital asset trading division.

“Banca Sella Holding SpA has a reputation as an innovative structure in digital banking, and its digital bank Hype has over 1 million users, Bloomberg summarized.”

It was previously reported that the company Circle has applied to the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to establish a trust bank, further highlighting the growing interest in the field of digital finance.
