Market Dynamics and Key Reasons for Changes

Despite the impressive figures this August, sales of new passenger cars were 16% lower than in August of last year. Experts attribute this to the surge in demand in 2024, when consumers rushed to buy cars in anticipation of the introduction of an additional 15% tax on purchases.

Sales Leaders and Popular Models

The undisputed leader in the Ukrainian market remains Toyota, which sold 999 cars in a month. In second place is the Chinese brand BYD with a result of 860 cars. The top ten most popular brands also included Renault, Volkswagen, Skoda, Hyundai, BMW, Honda, Suzuki, and Audi.

Among models, the compact crossover Renault Duster was the most in demand in August, with a sales volume of 486 units.

  • Toyota — 999 units
  • BYD — 860 units
  • Renault — 529 units
  • Volkswagen — 527 units
  • Skoda — 407 units
  • Hyundai — 393 units
  • BMW — 337 units
  • Honda — 328 units
  • Suzuki — 231 units
  • Audi — 225 units

“In total, since the beginning of the year, 46,000 new passenger cars have been registered in the country, which is 3% less than last year,” the report states.

Thus, the demand for new cars in Ukraine remains consistently high, despite a slight decrease compared to last year.
