According to information from Bitcoin Laws, the House Committee passed the bill in full with minor amendments. The next step is the third reading and final vote.

Strengthening the Bitcoin Economy in Arizona

Dennis Porter, the CEO of the non-profit organization Satoshi Action Fund (SAF), noted that Arizona is just one vote away from sending the strategic bitcoin reserve bill to the governor’s desk. However, it is worth mentioning that Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs recently announced her intention to veto all bills until a bipartisan agreement is reached on funding programs for individuals with disabilities.

It is worth recalling that in January 2025, Arizona became the first state in the U.S. to pass a bill for the establishment of a strategic bitcoin reserve. It was later supported by the Senate. Interestingly, a proposal was also made in Sweden to create a bitcoin reserve from confiscated assets.
