Mass Unfitness: Situation Details

According to Olga Reshetilova, representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the command of the Ground Forces have joined the investigation. The aim of the inspection is to determine at which stage the error occurred that led to such a significant number of unfit individuals being admitted to the military unit.

“It is necessary to thoroughly examine how this happened, at what stage this mass violation occurred. Was it at the TCC stage, the VLK, or was it already at the military unit, or was a decision made somewhere higher?” she explained.

The military ombudsman emphasized that the situation cannot be left without proper attention, as it concerns the mobilization of two thousand individuals who do not meet the service requirements.

Office of the Military Ombudsman and Current Mobilization

Following the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine on February 24, martial law was introduced and general mobilization was announced. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine regularly extends the martial law and mobilization measures. On January 27, the Office of the Military Ombudsman officially began its work in Ukraine, enhancing the oversight of the rights of military personnel and the mobilized.

Currently, responsible structures are analyzing the situation to establish the causes of the systemic failure and to prevent similar cases in the future.
