The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has stated that its recent recruitment campaign was solely aimed at promoting career opportunities for Ukrainians and was not intended to create the impression of a swift resumption of air travel to Ukraine.

Wizz Air is not preparing for an immediate return to Ukraine
The airline emphasized that under the conditions of a prolonged war and closed airspace, there is currently no possibility of launching flights to or from Ukrainian cities. All materials related to this campaign have already been removed from the company’s official platforms. They are currently under review to avoid misunderstandings in the future and to ensure maximum transparency in communications with the public.
“At this time, given the ongoing war and closed airspace, we cannot resume operations in Ukraine. We sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings that our campaign may have caused,” the airline stated.
The prospects for resuming flights depend on safety
Wizz Air expressed hope that the war will end as soon as possible, allowing the company to reconnect Ukraine with European destinations. To this end, the carrier plans to prepare in advance for the resumption of operations, including by engaging Ukrainian specialists and supporting the development of the local economy.
