In May, Ukraine continues to experience summer-like warm weather that began in April. According to meteorologists, on Wednesday, May 6, the air temperature in most regions of the country will reach between +22 and +27 degrees. At the same time, somewhat cooler temperatures are expected in the southern regions, ranging from +17 to +21 degrees.

Weather Forecast by Regions of Ukraine
The middle of the week promises to be warm and mostly dry. According to meteorologist Natalka Didenko, precipitation is unlikely, although light rain may occur in Luhansk, and in the evening hours — in the western regions.
In Kyiv, sunny and dry weather is forecasted for May 6, with air temperatures rising to +26 degrees. However, by the end of the week, meteorologists warn of the possibility of local rains, thunderstorms, and a gradual decrease in temperature.
Climate Trends for 2026
Climatologists point out that 2026 could become the hottest year on record. Renowned climatologist Dr. James Jansen from Columbia University predicts the onset of a super El Niño phenomenon as early as this summer, which could significantly impact weather conditions worldwide.
Scientists note that Europe is warming more than twice as fast as the global average, which is related to climate change. This dynamic leads to extreme weather events, increased heat-related mortality, and large-scale wildfires.
“Strong winds, sharp cold snaps, and downpours are no longer just whims of spring but real consequences of climate change that will also affect Ukraine in 2026.”
Experts emphasize that rapid climate changes are causing unstable weather: sharp temperature fluctuations, strong winds, and downpours may be observed this year across the entire country.
