Port Operations Under Massive Attacks
Despite challenging conditions and an increase in drone attacks, Ukrainian ports managed to maintain stable operations. Throughout April, over 500 drones were recorded attacking the logistics infrastructure. Almost daily, port industry facilities were subjected to shelling, yet port workers ensured continuity of operations and fulfillment of foreign trade obligations.
“The intensity of drone attacks is increasing: in April alone, over 500 UAVs targeted the logistics infrastructure. In fact, ports were shelled every other day. Despite security risks and regular shelling, port workers ensured the continuity of the industry’s operations and the fulfillment of foreign trade contracts,” the statement said.
Main Trends in Cargo Flow
In the first four months of 2026, the total volume of cargo handling in Ukrainian sea ports amounted to 29.5 million tons. This figure exceeds the results of the same period in 2025.
Traditionally, the bulk of the cargo flow consists of grain crops. In January-April 2026, 16 million tons were handled, which is 7% more than in the same period of the previous year. This indicates a stable demand for Ukrainian agricultural products and the effectiveness of port operations even under heightened security risks.
