Rare Modification and Technical Specifications

All three vehicles are second-generation Chevrolet Corvette models in the rare L78 modification, belonging to collector Rick Berrek. According to the auction house, only 749 of these cars were produced in 1965, making them one of the most valuable among classic sports car enthusiasts.

The Corvette L78 is equipped with a 6.5-liter V8 engine producing 425 horsepower with a torque of 560 Nm. Paired with a 4-speed manual transmission, the sports car can accelerate to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, and its top speed reaches 225 km/h. This model was the first among Corvettes to feature disc brakes, enhancing its safety and handling.

Condition of the Cars and Unique Examples

None of the presented vehicles have undergone restoration, yet they remain in excellent condition and come with a complete set of original documentation. Notably, among the lot is a blue coupe, which was one of the first produced, as well as a silver Corvette, which belongs to the last examples of the model. These facts further increase collectors’ interest in this offering.

“The Chevrolet Corvette L78 is the only variant of the model with a 6.5-liter V8. It was produced only in 1965, and now the price of these cars in good condition easily exceeds $300,000.”

Experts estimate that each of these Corvette L78s in excellent condition could be worth over $300,000, and the total value of the collection could reach a million dollars.

In addition to the trio of unique Chevrolets, the auction also features a collection of Nissan Skyline GT-Rs, valued at $3.5 million, and it was previously reported about the sale of a rare FIAT for $300,000.
