The crew of the ‘Rubin’ unit of the ‘Paskuda’ division of the 1020th anti-aircraft missile and artillery regiment successfully destroyed a modern Russian drone with a jet engine. The operation to eliminate the enemy UAV was conducted remotely, ensuring complete safety for the Ukrainian military.

Unique interception capabilities
The fighters of the 1020th anti-aircraft regiment intercepted the target using the modern remote control system Hornet Vision CTRL. This technology allows the operator to be at a great distance from the target — even tens and hundreds of kilometers away. As a result, the team managed to destroy the Russian strike drone during its flight.
The Ukrainian interceptor drone STING, developed by the company ‘Wild Hornets’, became a key tool in destroying the ‘Geran-4’ drone. This is the first confirmed case of the Russian Federation using a drone of this model, according to specialized publications. Monitoring resources also recorded the probable appearance of ‘Geran-4’ in the Chernihiv region.
Specifications of the ‘Geran-4’ drone
The modern UAV ‘Geran-4’ is an upgraded version of the previous model ‘Geran-3’, which was first introduced in January 2026. According to military sources, this drone significantly differs from its predecessors:
- Equipped with a twice as powerful engine and improved aerodynamic characteristics, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 500 km/h (‘Geran-3’ — up to 335 km/h).
- Capable of covering a distance of up to 850 km, while ‘Geran-3’ is limited to 600 km.
- Maximum takeoff weight is 450 kg, with a warhead of 50 kg.
The flight altitude of the drone varies from 100 to 5000 meters, and the mission duration can reach 2.5 hours.
‘A twice as powerful engine and optimized aerodynamic contours that allowed it to reach flight speeds of approximately up to 500 km/h.’
