Ukrainian Explains Why She Left Georgia: Main Drawbacks of Living There

A Ukrainian named Arina lived in Georgia for six months but decided to return to the Czech Republic, sharing the main drawbacks of life in this country that, in her opinion, are rarely discussed openly.

Main Reasons for Returning from Georgia

Arina shared her experience on social media, detailing what was decisive for her desire to leave Georgia. She noted that the main factor was the limited choice of meat: she does not consume chicken or pork, and alternative types of meat, such as turkey or duck, are very hard to find, and if they are available, their prices are extremely high.

“The less obvious downsides of living in Georgia that no one seems to mention. I lived there for half a year and returned home (to the Czech Republic, — Ed.), but living there for my entire life with my food preferences would be very difficult for me.”

Another downside Arina mentioned was the difficulty and high cost of shipping goods from Ukraine: according to her, the cost of sending one kilogram of a package is about 2000 hryvnias.

She also pointed out the lack of products in stores for people who follow a healthy lifestyle. According to the Ukrainian, the maximum she was able to find was gluten-free flour.

Discussion on Social Media

Her review sparked an active discussion in the comments. Users’ opinions were divided: some agree with Arina and note that their experiences are similar, while others claim that there is a wide selection of meat and products in many stores, especially in large cities, and that there are no issues with cooking. Some even mentioned that they have lived in Georgia for many years and have also faced similar difficulties, particularly regarding the quality of meat and product variety, although they emphasize that the situation depends on the region of residence.
