Ukrainian Elevator Equipment Surpasses Imports Thanks to Government Support

Ukrainian manufacturers of elevator equipment have significantly strengthened their positions in the domestic market, pushing out foreign competitors thanks to government support and high service availability. In 2016, the share of Ukrainian equipment was only 20%, while foreign equipment accounted for 80%. However, by 2025, according to KMZ Industries, the situation has drastically changed in key segments.

Advantages of Domestic Equipment and Growth Factors

According to representatives of KMZ Industries, farmers who previously preferred imported machinery have realized the competitiveness of Ukrainian solutions not only in terms of quality but also due to additional advantages. In particular, domestic equipment is noted for better service support, consideration of regional climatic features, knowledge of the local market, and the ability of manufacturers to operate on equal terms with clients during wartime.

“Farmers have tried domestic equipment and found that it is not only on par with imported quality but also has a number of significant additional advantages. Specifically, this includes service availability, design tailored to climatic conditions, knowledge of the local context, and the ability of the manufacturer to work in wartime on equal terms with the client,” explained KMZ Industries.

The Role of Government Support and Market Achievements

An important factor in the development of the industry has been the government program for partial compensation of 25% of the cost of Ukrainian equipment. This support has allowed farmers to test modern Ukrainian solutions, contributing to increased demand. As a result of last year, the share of Ukrainian transport equipment for elevators reached 48.8% in monetary terms, while in the segment of metal silos for storage, it reached 81.4%.

KMZ Industries remains the largest manufacturer of elevator equipment in Ukraine and has already implemented over 5,000 projects for the construction of elevator complexes.
