Ukrainian banks do not plan to raise the limit on p2p transfers above 100,000 UAH

Ukrainian banks are currently not considering the possibility of increasing the established basic monthly limit on p2p transfers, which is set at 100,000 hryvnias.

This is reported by Finway

As reported by the president of the Association of Ukrainian Banks, Andriy Dubas, this limit was determined taking into account the average salary level in the country. At the time the restriction was set, the average salary in Ukraine was within the range of 22,000 to 25,000 hryvnias, so the current limit exceeds this figure by four times.

Individual limits for clients with verified incomes

Banks note that for clients with officially verified incomes, there is an option to set personal limits on transfers that significantly exceed the basic level. This applies, for example, to military personnel receiving combat payments or citizens with high earnings.

The level of income can be confirmed using documents such as OK-5 and OK-7 certificates, which are available through the state service Diia. In addition, banks may consider real estate, vehicle purchase agreements, or other valuable assets to verify the sources of funds.

Memorandum to combat shell companies and schemes

According to Andriy Dubas, the updated memorandum, concluded between banks, is primarily aimed at combating shell companies and schemes for splitting payments through individual entrepreneurs of various groups.

25 banking and non-banking financial institutions have already joined the memorandum. As emphasized by the president of the National Association of Banks of Ukraine, Serhiy Naumov,

“the memorandum is a mechanism for self-regulation of the market and does not replace existing legislation.”
