In the past day, 257 combat clashes were recorded on the front line between Ukrainian defenders and the armed forces of the Russian Federation. The highest number of attacks occurred in the Pokrovsk direction, where defense forces repelled 39 assaults in the areas of the settlements of Nove Shakhove, Nikanorivka, Rodynske, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Hryshyne, Serhiivka, Udachne, Molodetske, and towards Bilytske, Vasylivka, and Novopavlivka.

Combat actions in key directions
In the Northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, seven Russian assaults were recorded, while in the Southern Slobozhansky direction, there were 14 attacks. The occupiers continued offensive actions in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk directions. In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian units conducted 28 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Illinivka, Rusynyi Yar, Toretske, Kucherevyi Yar, and Novopavlivka.

Situation on other sections of the front
In the Oleksandrivka direction, Russian troops carried out three attacks. In the Huliaipole direction, 25 attacks were recorded in the areas of Novo Zaporizhzhia, Zlahoda, Huliaipole, Sviatopetrivka, Dobropillia, Olenokostiantynivka, Charivne, Zaliznychne, Hirke, and Huliaipole.
Ukrainian defense forces repelled three attempts by the enemy to advance in the Orikhiv direction, as well as another three in the Dnipro direction.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, previously noted that as of May 8, the Russian army had intensified its offensive along almost the entire front line. The situation remains particularly tense in the Pokrovsk direction, where about 106,000 Russian soldiers are concentrated.
According to analysts from the American Institute for the Study of War, the Russian Federation’s forces have not made significant progress on the battlefield over the past year, while Ukrainian units are demonstrating successes in countering the aggressor.
