Details of the Night Shelling

According to official data, Russian troops fired five Kh-31P anti-radiation missiles over the Black Sea and one Kh-35 anti-ship missile from temporarily occupied Crimea. The launch of various types of drones was recorded from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Milleryov, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from captured areas of Donetsk, Chervonohryhorivka, and Hvardiyske.

“According to preliminary data, as of 09:00, air defense forces have shot down/suppressed 1 Kh-35 anti-ship missile and 130 enemy UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types, and ‘Parody’ imitator drones in the south, north, and east of the country,” the report states.

It is noted that another five Kh-31P missiles did not reach their designated targets. The military also recorded hits from seven strike drones in six different populated areas, and debris from the downed objects fell in seven locations.

Threats to Civil Infrastructure and Signs of Genocide

Russian military forces continue to carry out attacks across all regions of Ukraine, using various types of weapons: strike drones, missiles, guided bombs, and multiple launch rocket systems. Such shelling is often aimed at cities, critical, and civilian infrastructure.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations consider such strikes as war crimes committed by the Russian Federation, emphasizing their targeted nature. Special attention is paid to systematic attacks on the facilities that provide essential services to the population and medical institutions, which lead to the deprivation of people of electricity, heat, water, communication, and access to medical care. Legal experts, genocide researchers, and human rights defenders consider such actions as signs of genocidal crimes.

Manifestations of genocide include public statements by Russian officials aimed at denying the existence of the Ukrainian nation, calls for the destruction of Ukrainians, persecution of pro-Ukrainian populations in occupied territories, the destruction of the intelligentsia, the introduction of educational programs to change children’s identities, mass deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia, as well as the removal and destruction of Ukrainian books and cultural artifacts.

It should be recalled that the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, adopted in 1948, obliges 149 member countries to prevent such actions and punish them in both wartime and peacetime. According to the document, genocide is considered to be intentional actions aimed at the complete or partial destruction of a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group.

Despite this, the leadership of Russia denies the facts of targeted shelling of civilian objects, hospitals, schools, kindergartens, as well as energy and water supply facilities during the full-scale war against Ukraine.
