Main Destinations for Scrap Metal Exports from Ukraine
The leading importer of Ukrainian scrap metal remains Poland, which purchased over 70% of the total volume – 33.67 thousand tons, an increase of 77.6% compared to the same period last year. In addition to Poland, significant volumes were exported to Greece (4.37 thousand tons) and Germany (0.4 thousand tons).
Export Dynamics and Resumption of Supplies to Transnistria
In the first seven months of 2025, total exports of Ukrainian scrap metal reached 248.34 thousand tons, which is 66.4% higher year-on-year. Key consumers include Poland, Greece, Bulgaria, and Germany.
In July, supplies of scrap metal to Transnistria were also resumed through the Ukrainian exporter LLC “D-Kamet”. The final recipient was the Moldovan Metallurgical Plant in the city of Ribnita, which had already received raw materials last year.
President of “Ukrmetallurgprom” Oleksandr Kalenkov described this practice as dangerous and harmful to the economy and national security, noting that Ukraine is losing strategic raw materials and budget revenues.
