Ukraine’s Position Among EU Countries

The production figures have allowed Ukraine to secure the second place among European Union countries in terms of harvested grain volumes. Ukraine is only behind France, which has a harvest of 63.1 million tons this year, but ahead of Germany (45.2 million tons) and Poland (36.5 million tons).

“In terms of grain production volumes, Ukraine effectively holds second place among EU countries, trailing only France (63.1 million tons) and surpassing Germany (45.2 million tons) and Poland (36.5 million tons).”

Yield and Leadership in Production of Specific Crops

The average yield of grain crops in 2025 is 5.08 tons per hectare, which is only 14% lower than the average in EU countries. Ukrainian agricultural producers have already cultivated 94% of the area allocated for grains, as well as 97.7% of the area sown with oilseeds.

Specifically, this year’s corn harvest amounts to 26.45 million tons, wheat to 22.96 million tons. Among oilseeds, the harvest includes: rapeseed – 3.32 million tons, soybeans – 4.81 million tons, and sunflowers – 9.23 million tons.
