Ukraine has returned 193 soldiers from captivity during a new exchange with Russia

Ukraine conducted a new prisoner exchange with the Russian Federation, resulting in the return of 193 Ukrainian servicemen. This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Among the returned defenders are representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, the National Police, and the State Special Transport Service. All of them participated in the defense of the country in various areas of the front.

“193 Ukrainian warriors are returning home as part of the exchange. Military personnel from the Armed Forces, National Guard, State Border Guard Service, National Police, State Special Transport Service. They defended Ukraine in various directions,” he wrote on Telegram.

Among those released are military personnel against whom Russia had opened criminal cases, as well as wounded individuals who require special attention and medical assistance.

The head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Budanov, recently announced preparations for the next prisoner exchange, which may take place as early as the end of next week.

The previous exchange between Ukraine and Russia occurred on April 11. At that time, 175 Ukrainian soldiers and seven civilians were successfully returned.

In his address on the fourth anniversary of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, President Zelensky emphasized that during this time, 8,669 citizens of Ukraine have returned home, including both military personnel and civilians.
