In 2024, Ukraine achieved a record, ranking first in the world for net exports of frozen raspberries. Domestic producers sold an impressive 65 thousand tons of this berry abroad.

The largest consumers of Ukrainian raspberries were Poland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, and France. Analysts at EastFruit note that in 2024, the export of frozen raspberries from Ukraine increased by 34%, and this figure has doubled over the past three seasons.
It is important to emphasize that these figures refer specifically to net exports. In particular, Serbia exported 67.7 thousand tons of raspberries in 2024, but 4.7 thousand tons were purchased for re-export purposes. Additionally, Poland, which also holds leading positions in raspberry exports, currently imports more than 52% of the berry, primarily from Ukraine.
Diversification of Sales Markets
Currently, Ukraine is experiencing a process of diversifying its frozen raspberry exports. As a result of farmers’ protests, Ukrainian producers have opened new, more profitable markets. Poland’s share in the export of Ukrainian raspberries has decreased from 63% in 2022 to 35% in 2024.
Other important markets for Ukrainian raspberries have become Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, and France — their share in exports has increased to 48% since the onset of the full-scale war. Over the past three years, exports of frozen raspberries to these countries have significantly increased: to Germany — by 4.5 times, to the Czech Republic — by 4.2 times, to Austria — by 33 times, and to France — by two times.
New Growth in Exports
Furthermore, in 2024, Ukraine began exporting frozen raspberries to Belgium, Italy, and Lithuania for the first time, totaling over 2 thousand tons. Exports to Canada and the USA are also actively increasing, where raspberry prices are significantly higher than in the European Union.
“Given the high raspberry prices in the previous season, EastFruit analysts predict that in 2025 and the 2025/26 season, Ukraine will set new export records for raspberries and strengthen its leadership. In particular, by 2025, Ukraine may also surpass Serbia in total frozen raspberry exports,” the company reports.
