The General Director of the defense unit of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, Ihor Fomenko, shared information that several possible options for exporting products from Ukrainian defense enterprises are currently under consideration. However, a final decision has not yet been made.
This is reported by Finway
Fomenko expressed hope that a final decision may be announced as early as May, as this issue is extremely critical for the country’s defense industry, which is currently only 40% operational. Discussions about export have been ongoing for over a year, and everyone recognizes the importance of making the appropriate decision.
Conditions for Exporting Defense Industry Products
During the discussion, the following conditions for export were established:
- Products that are not in demand by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, or whose tactical and technical characteristics do not meet the requirements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Alternatively, insufficient financial resources for acquiring this weaponry and military equipment.
- Exported weapons must not fall into the hands of the enemy or countries that support them.
- A list of countries to which export is permitted must be determined.
- A list of weapons prohibited for export during wartime must be formed to avoid negative impacts on the state’s defense capabilities.
