In Ukraine, efforts continue to eliminate the consequences of the severe weather that caused numerous destructions and casualties. According to Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, the most affected regions are Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, and Kyiv, where strong winds damaged the roofs of dozens of residential buildings, public institutions, educational establishments, as well as vehicles.

Damage and number of casualties
As a result of the worsening weather conditions, three people have died — in Zaporizhzhia, Zakarpattia, and Cherkasy. Eight people were injured, including a child. According to the State Emergency Service, rescuers have made over 400 emergency calls to address the aftermath of the severe weather, including cutting down fallen trees, dismantling dangerous structures, and providing assistance to citizens.
“The roofs of dozens of residential buildings and public institutions, educational establishments, and vehicles have been damaged. Unfortunately, three people have died – in Zaporizhzhia, Zakarpattia, and Cherkasy,” the minister reported.
Situation in Zaporizhzhia and warnings for citizens
The situation in Zaporizhzhia was particularly challenging, where strong winds tore off the roof of a concert hall during a performance. Rescuers quickly dismantled the emergency structures and ensured the safety of the visitors.
Ihor Klymenko emphasized that restoration work is ongoing today, and citizens should be extremely cautious due to the continued gusts of wind. A yellow level of danger has been established in most areas of Ukraine.
Additionally, due to the severe weather, 700 settlements in 19 regions were completely or partially left without electricity. Previously, there were reports of two fatalities due to falling trees, but the number of victims has increased.
