There is no shortage of diesel fuel in Ukraine, and experts predict that one is not expected in the near future. As of March 2026, the volumes of diesel fuel supply remain at last year’s levels, and some companies even plan to build additional reserves for April.

Clarification on the information regarding shortages
Serhiy Kuyun, the director of the consulting group “A-95,” has refuted rumors of an alleged diesel fuel shortage in the Ukrainian market. He emphasized that such reports are the result of misinterpretation of professional assessments of the situation in the fuel sector. According to him, contracting for diesel fuel for April is ongoing, and about 40% of the necessary volumes have already been reserved. The remaining supplies will also be secured, but the final price is still being negotiated, which does not affect the availability of fuel in the country.
“I declare: these publications are the result of a misunderstanding of the content of professional assessments of the market situation.
Fuel prices and market situation
Serhiy Kuyun stressed that there are no queues for diesel fuel priced at 85 UAH per liter, which also refutes information about a shortage. According to market data, as of March 23, the average price of A-95 gasoline has risen by 39 kopecks to 71.85 UAH/l, while the price of diesel fuel has increased by 2.97 UAH to 84.22 UAH/l. However, the price increase is not a sign of a shortage, but is related to the overall market conditions and fluctuations in the cost of procurement contracts.
Thus, the situation with diesel fuel in Ukraine remains stable, and all supplies are being provided according to plan, which helps avoid any disruptions in its availability at gas stations.
