Financial indicators and development prospects
According to Ruslan Shostak, this year EVA plans to achieve a turnover of ₴45–47 billion with a margin of 7–8%. The Varus supermarket chain is targeting a turnover of ₴40 billion and a profitability level of 2–3%.
“The combined turnover of the EVA and Varus networks, which are part of Terwin Corporation, may exceed $2 billion (over ₴83 billion) this year,” noted the corporation’s president, Ruslan Shostak.
Expansion strategy and market trends
The EVA network plans active development not only in traditional offline retail but also as an online platform for operating in international markets. Regarding Varus, the president of Terwin believes that the network has significant potential for further growth in the Ukrainian market. Currently, small entrepreneurs and traders in food markets account for 35–40% of food retail in Ukraine. Meanwhile, large retailers such as ATB, Silpo, and Novus together control less than 70% of the market. It is forecasted that over the next ten years, the share of small players will decrease to 5–7%, while large operators will capture over 90% of the segment.
A new Varus supermarket recently opened in Dnipro in a two-story building that was formerly a cinema, indicating further expansion of the network.
