The guitar, which Gallagher used both during live performances and in studio recordings, including for the album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”, sold for $96,000. “The guitar sold at auction in New York for $96,000.”
It is worth noting that the starting estimate for the instrument at the Sotheby’s auction was approximately $80,000, but the final price exceeded this amount. For comparison, a similar model of the Epiphone EJ-200 guitar in Ukraine costs tens of thousands of hryvnias, but this particular lot was special due to its historical and cultural significance.
Sale of Manuscript Lyrics and Other Lots
In addition to the guitar, a handwritten sheet with the lyrics to the song “Don’t Look Back in Anger” was also sold at the auction. The buyer paid $38,400 for this valuable item, highlighting the significant interest of collectors in artifacts related to the work of the band Oasis.
Noel Gallagher’s guitar, which became one of the central lots of the auction, once again confirmed the high demand for musical rarities that have a direct connection to the history of global rock music.
