Key Areas of Cooperation between Tether and Da Nang

Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the People’s Committee of Da Nang. This marks the beginning of collaborative efforts to create modern digital solutions for municipal governance, focusing on the implementation of blockchain, digital assets, and P2P technologies.

Under the agreement, Tether will assist the city in developing policies for the use of blockchain tools, establishing “sandboxes” for experimental projects, and tokenizing real-world assets (RWA). Special attention will be given to creating a regulatory framework that meets international standards for transparency and security. Tether plans to share insights gained from its global initiative, Plan ₿.

Educational Initiatives and Strategic Importance for Vietnam

As part of the collaboration, educational programs on artificial intelligence will be launched in partnership with leading universities and research centers in Vietnam. These courses aim to enhance the expertise of local professionals in developing and implementing blockchain solutions for both the public and private sectors. This will also promote financial inclusion in the region.

Vietnam is actively shaping its own Web3 solutions ecosystem, having recently legalized digital assets (the law will come into effect in 2026) and launched a five-year pilot program for crypto trading. The country already ranks fourth in the world for cryptocurrency adoption among its population, and the new partnership with Tether is seen as an important step towards strengthening Vietnam’s position as a technological hub in the region.

“Da Nang is becoming the future of digital governance in Southeast Asia with a clear vision of how technology can serve people and enhance governance. We are excited to collaborate with such a progressive city that reflects Tether’s commitment to building inclusive, efficient, and sustainable digital ecosystems.”

The ongoing collaboration with Da Nang is part of Tether’s international expansion strategy, which recently invested in the African fintech startup Kotani Pay to build digital financial infrastructure on the continent and received regulatory approval for USDT in Thailand.
