The Role of the USA in Resolving International Conflicts

In his address via social media platform X, Andrii Sybiga emphasized the importance of American resolve in addressing global issues and called for similar resolve regarding Russian aggression against Ukraine.

“American resolve works. We believe it is time to show sufficient determination to compel Moscow to cease fire and end the war against Ukraine.”

US President Donald Trump announced the achievement of an agreement with Iran regarding a two-week ceasefire. During this time, the parties intend to conduct negotiations aimed at reaching a comprehensive peace agreement. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that Tehran agreed to these terms. The Iranian authorities informed that during this period, maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz will be safe for shipping.

Prospects for Negotiations and Impact on Ukraine

According to reports, the first round of negotiations between the USA and Iran is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 10, in Islamabad. This will be the first face-to-face dialogue between the parties since the beginning of the war. The situation in the Middle East has become complicated following a joint military operation by the USA and Israel against Iran that began on February 28. In response, the Iranian armed forces launched missile and drone strikes not only against Israel and American facilities but also against several neighboring states in the region.

As a result of the escalation in the Middle East, trilateral negotiations between Ukraine, the USA, and Russia, which took place in January-February, have been postponed. At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the dialogue has not reached a deadlock. On April 1, Zelensky reported on a productive conversation with representatives of US President Donald Trump — Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner, which also included Senator Lindsey Graham and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. Following the discussion, the parties agreed on maintaining constant contact between the teams of Ukraine and the USA to strengthen security guarantees between the countries.
