Dynamics of Steel Production
According to the results from January to December 2025, metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine reduced steel production by 2.2% compared to the same period of the previous year. According to the association “Ukrmetallurgprom,” 7.41 million tons of steel were produced in 2025, while in 2024 this figure was 7.57 million tons.
Increase in Pig Iron and Rolled Products Production
Against the backdrop of a decline in the steelmaking segment, there is positive dynamics in the production of pig iron and rolled products. During the reporting period in 2025, the volume of pig iron produced reached 7.88 million tons, which is 11.2% more than in 2024 (7.09 million tons).
Production of finished rolled products also demonstrated growth: in 2025, enterprises produced 6.52 million tons, which is 4.8% more compared to the 6.22 million tons produced in 2024.
“Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises reduced steel production by 2.2% year-on-year from January to December 2025.”
Thus, despite a separate decline in steel output, other key indicators of the industry confirmed a gradual recovery and an increase in the production capacities of Ukraine’s metallurgical complex.
