Details of the block mining and probability of success
Block number 903,883 became the 301st solo block mined without the involvement of large mining pools. A total of 3,949 transactions were processed in the block, and the work was managed by Solo CK Pool. CKPool analyst Con Kolivas notes that a miner with such power has about a one in 2,800 chance of finding a block each day. On average, this means that such an event for this participant could occur once every eight years.
“A miner of this size has about a 1 in 2,800 chance of finding a block each day, which means on average one block every 8 years”.
Successes of solo miners in 2025
Such instances where individual miners receive significant rewards are not isolated. In particular, in June 2025, a solo miner also mined a block in the Bitcoin network, receiving 3.151 BTC, which at that time was worth over $330,000. Earlier, in March 2025, a solo miner with a power of 3.3 TH/s managed to mine a block and receive 3.15 BTC, which was approximately $244,500.
These stories confirm that even in the presence of dominant large pools, individual miners have a chance for success and can expect substantial financial rewards.
