As a result of a massive missile strike by Russia on Ukraine during the night of June 2, at least 13 people have died, and over 100 individuals have been injured. This was reported by the State Emergency Service, noting significant damage to civilian infrastructure in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.

Consequences of the shelling in various regions of Ukraine
In the capital, rescuers worked at 29 different locations, extinguishing fires and clearing debris. The fire has been extinguished at most sites; however, work continues at six locations in five districts of Kyiv. Residential buildings, a car dealership, a utility company, an academy, outbuildings, a gas station, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs Service Center 8041 were particularly affected.
In Dnipro, the number of fatalities has risen to nine, including a child. A rescuer, Major Anton Yarmolenko, deputy head of the fire and rescue unit, also died while responding to a call at the moment of the strike.
“Among the victims of the shelling is our rescuer – the deputy head of the fire and rescue unit, Major Anton Yarmolenko. At the moment of the strike, he was en route to a call. Sincere condolences to the family and the team. Another 35 residents of Dnipro were injured, and we have information regarding 6 missing citizens,” the agency adds.
Additionally, in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region, a rescuer and two civilians were injured.
Scale of the shelling and reactions from both sides
In Kharkiv, more than 10 people were injured as a result of Russian strikes, damaging residential buildings and a food production facility. Rescuers also recorded damage to civilian objects in Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv regions, and Zaporizhia. In Kyiv region, fires were extinguished in residential buildings, a postal terminal, and vehicles.
According to the Air Force, Russia launched 73 missiles and 656 drones at Ukraine, of which 40 missiles and 602 UAVs were destroyed by air defense forces.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced a “massive strike” on what they claim are defense industry enterprises and fuel and transport infrastructure facilities, adding that “all designated objects were hit.”
