Repair works are ongoing on both sides at the Ukrainian-Polish border crossing “Ustyluh – Zosin”. In Poland, the bridge is undergoing reconstruction, while in Ukraine, the road surface is being repaired. As a result, traffic is slowing down and queues are forming, so travelers are advised to choose alternative routes.

On the Polish side, extensive repair works are being carried out on the vehicle bridge over the Western Bug River within the “Ustyluh – Zosin” border crossing. This bridge is a crucial element of the infrastructure that connects two border crossings and facilitates the daily movement of hundreds of passenger and freight vehicles. Polish road services are actively working on strengthening the bridge’s structure and updating the road surface, which limits capacity and leads to delays.
According to preliminary estimates, the repair works will continue for several more weeks, during which traffic will remain slow. Simultaneously, on the Ukrainian side, the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Volyn region is conducting repair works on the lanes leading directly to the border crossing. This includes both routine updates to the road surface and improvements to traffic organization to enhance driver safety.
Although these measures are necessary for long-term improvements to transportation infrastructure, they temporarily complicate the situation at the approaches to the checkpoint. Drivers are already reporting increased queues, especially during peak hours and on weekends.
In light of these circumstances, Ukrainian border services strongly recommend that citizens consider potential delays when planning trips through “Ustyluh – Zosin”. If possible, alternative routes for crossing the border should be chosen, including the crossings at Yahodyn, Rava-Ruska, or Krakivets, where the situation is currently more stable.
