Import Structure and Average Age of Cars
Among all imported passenger cars from the USA, the largest share consists of vehicles with gasoline engines — 44%. Electric cars hold the second position with a rate of 40%, indicating a growing interest among Ukrainians in eco-friendly transportation. Meanwhile, hybrid cars account for 8% of the total, diesel vehicles for 5%, and cars with gas equipment for 3%.
The average age of the used “Americans” that arrived on the Ukrainian market last month is 5.8 years.
Demand for Electric Cars and Changes in Sales Structure
Ukraine is experiencing stable growth in demand for electric vehicles. In the first five months of 2025, citizens registered 37,281 passenger cars with electric engines. This confirms the trend towards a transition to more environmentally friendly types of transportation.
“Crossovers have taken first place in the structure of used passenger car sales for the first time in a long period, surpassing sedans by literally one hundredth of a percent (29.09% versus 29.08%).”
Thus, crossovers have become the most popular body type among used passenger cars that are imported and sold in Ukraine, slightly ahead of sedans.
