In Slovakia, after more than three decades of hiatus, the production of hulls for BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles has resumed. This new phase has begun at the factory in the city of Dubnica nad Váhom, launched by STV Group. The first prototype of the armored vehicle has already successfully passed mobile testing. This is not about repairing old equipment, but rather about full-scale serial production of new hulls. A large-scale launch is planned for 2026-2027, with the annual capacity of the enterprise potentially reaching up to 100 units.

Ukraine – the Main Potential Customer for New BMP-1s
Experts are convinced that Ukraine will be the main customer for these armored vehicles. Kyiv has extensive experience in operating BMP-1s, actively modernizes its equipment, and trains crews to work with this type of combat vehicle. Moreover, the Ukrainian military specifically needs affordable BMPs. The most realistic scenario appears to be the supply of ready chassis without turrets, allowing for the independent installation of modern combat modules.
Ammunition Production in Belarus with Participation from Russia and China
Simultaneously, a secret project is being implemented in Belarus starting from November 2023 to launch the production of artillery and rocket ammunition of Soviet calibers – 122 mm and 152 mm. The new factory in the Minsk region is expected to be completed by December 2026. The Russian Federation and China are participating in the establishment of this enterprise. It is anticipated that the manufactured ammunition will be supplied to the Russian Federation, which continues its military aggression against Ukraine.
