The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, announced the likely visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Yerevan. It is expected that the Ukrainian leader may arrive in Armenia on May 4 to participate in the 8th summit of the European Political Community.

As Pashinyan stated during a press conference on April 30, Zelensky’s visit is being considered within the framework of developing international contacts and diplomatic relations between the countries. According to him, Armenia is expecting all members of the European Political Community, including Ukraine. However, as of the announcement, there has been no official confirmation from the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for security reasons.

Presence of Russian troops and Kyiv’s position
Media reports indicate that a significant contingent of the Russian army is still stationed in Armenia. In particular, the 102nd Russian military base is located in the city of Gyumri, and the Erebuni airbase and Russian air defense units operate in Yerevan.
At the time of this information’s release, there were no official comments from Kyiv regarding the possible visit of the president.
Additionally, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that he does not plan to visit Belarus while Alexander Lukashenko is in power. According to the Prime Minister, his position is related to the statements made by the Belarusian leader regarding the war, where Lukashenko supported Azerbaijan’s victory. Pashinyan stressed that he sees no possibility of dialogue with the current leader of Belarus.
