Oksen Lisovyi commented on rumors about his possible resignation as Minister of Education

The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, stated that discussions about his potential resignation and possible government reform do not affect the motivation of the ministry’s team. The official emphasized that the employees of the ministry perceive their activities as a service, not just a job, and approach it with the utmost responsibility.

Lisovyi spoke about his attitude towards rumors regarding changes in the Cabinet

“Do such discussions demotivate? No, they do not demotivate, because, in fact, you understand, we see ourselves here as mobilized people. We serve. This is our service. It is not the most comfortable place to work, not at all. This is service. I would be at war right now if I were not in this position. In fact, I was taken from the war to this position, from the Serebryansky Forest, if you know. Therefore, we treat it as service. There will be demobilization, well, phew, we will breathe out, thank God. It is important that we are not ashamed of this period,” the official noted.

He emphasized that constant rumors about personnel changes are a normal situation for a democratic and dynamic state, and updates in power and fresh perspectives are the values for which the country has fought. According to Lisovyi, he calmly regards his fate in the position, focusing on fulfilling his duties as much as possible within the time allotted to him.

The impact of rumors on the ministry’s work and Lisovyi’s biography

At the same time, the minister acknowledged that ongoing discussions about possible dismissal have a negative side, as they complicate the planning of long-term projects and motivation for strategic work.

Oksen Lisovyi was appointed as Minister of Education and Science in March 2023. Prior to this, and since the beginning of the full-scale aggression, he was a volunteer in the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2024, information emerged in the public domain that Lisovyi was officially not listed in the military unit’s records; however, testimonies from servicemen were later released, confirming his participation in combat actions as a volunteer.
