The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has announced that it will transfer UAH 84.2 billion of its profit to the State Budget for 2024. According to the regulator’s press service, this is a record amount that the NBU has ever directed to the budget. As noted by NBU Chairman Andriy Pyshny, «This is the largest amount that the NBU has ever transferred to the budget».

On April 18, 2025, the Council of the National Bank approved the Consolidated Financial Statements and the Management Report of the NBU for 2024. For the year, the financial result of the National Bank amounted to UAH 231 billion.
Where the Funds Will Be Directed
According to the data, the profit of the NBU available for distribution for 2024 was UAH 102.7 billion. This amount, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine «On the National Bank of Ukraine», will be partially directed to the general reserves of the NBU until they reach 10% of the average annual volume of monetary and credit obligations (UAH 18.5 billion). The remaining UAH 84.2 billion will be directed to the State Budget of Ukraine after agreeing on the timing with the Ministry of Finance.
Financial Indicators of the National Bank
As of December 31, 2024, the balance sheet total of the NBU was UAH 2,700 billion, which is UAH 307.4 billion more than in 2023 (UAH 2,392.6 billion). International reserves increased by 8% and reached USD 43.8 billion by the end of 2024, compared to USD 40.5 billion at the end of 2023. The equity of the National Bank increased by 35% in 2024, from UAH 420.1 billion to UAH 567.6 billion, primarily due to the growth of revaluation reserves resulting from changes in the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against foreign currencies.
