Comprehensive Support for Housing Restoration
After signing a memorandum with GIZ, Mykolaiv has joined the ranks of cities participating in the pilot project for energy-efficient housing reconstruction. As part of the program, the city will receive comprehensive assistance: from preparing project and budget documentation to forming urban implementation teams, enhancing the qualifications of specialists, and implementing climate-oriented solutions in the restoration process. A priority will be the development of projects for the reconstruction of 10 residential buildings that were damaged by shelling from the Russian Federation. Work on developing the documentation is scheduled to begin at the end of September, with the completion of the first phase expected at the beginning of next year.
“By signing the memorandum with GIZ, Mykolaiv has become one of the cities participating in the pilot program for energy-efficient housing reconstruction. Thanks to donor funding, Mykolaiv will receive comprehensive support: from developing project and budget documentation for housing restoration and forming implementation teams at the city level to enhancing the qualifications of specialists and implementing climate-oriented approaches to reconstruction.”
Program Expansion for Kryvyi Rih
Kryvyi Rih has also joined the pilot initiative. In total, 20 projects are planned for both cities, which may be financed by the European Investment Bank. This will enable the attraction of additional resources for the implementation of modern energy-efficient technologies in the housing reconstruction process and enhance the resilience of urban infrastructure to future challenges.
