The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has sharply criticized the USA, claiming that there is no democracy there. During his interview with the propaganda channel RT, he emphasized that the actions of the USA on the international stage reflect dictatorial approaches rather than democratic values.

Accusations of Human Rights Violations
Lukashenko stated that the war between the USA and Israel against Iran, as well as Washington’s policies towards Venezuela and Cuba, demonstrate the true nature of American power. According to him, the United States acts in its own interests, particularly regarding oil and gas, and is willing to use military force regardless of human rights.
“You only talk about some democracy, about human rights, it’s all just chatter. Your policy in Venezuela, threats to Cuba, and the war in the Middle East, among other things, show that you are true dictators. You are not democrats at all. There is no democracy or human rights. Listen, what human rights are there if you bombed a school? If you are for human rights, then let a person exercise the main right – the right to life. A person wanted to live, especially children, and you destroyed them.”
Rhetoric about ‘Real Democracy’
In a conversation with journalist Richard Sanchez, Lukashenko recalled that he had previously mentioned the possibility of a major deal with the USA, but has now shifted to accusations of mass killings and the absence of real democratic values in Washington. He insisted that there is significantly more democracy in Belarus than in the USA, citing the deaths of innocent people as a result of American actions in various countries around the world.
Furthermore, Lukashenko recalled his meeting with the American delegation that took place on March 19, which included US special envoy John Cole. He stated that he asked to convey to President Trump a request not to engage in military actions against Belarus’s allies in the Middle East.
